A Modern Day Interview with Always Ashley (aka Ashley Shai Lesley)
Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer? In all honesty, I feel like I’m both… often bouncing between the two. I hunt for the shiny and new, but I also choose to keep and nurture many.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? I’m that fancy multi-colored crayon. When you touch me to paper the first time I might be bright pink and bubbly, the second time maybe pale yellow and mellow, the third perhaps black and withdrawn, etc…
We finish the interview and you step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do? Well, I won’t be working that’s for sure. From there, the good ole government will take a huge chunk and I’ll also give 10% or more back to God. After that, well hello shopping spree, vacation and new home! Sure, I’ll put back a good chunk of savings too. 😉
What do you think about when you’re alone in your car? This is a loaded question. I have ADD. I think about anything and everything when I’m in the car… typically whatever is most currently happening in life.
What’s your favorite ’90s jam? In the 90’s I was young and restricted to only Christian or Country music, so it was probably something like “Lean On Me” by DC Talk or Mr. Cyrus’ big hit… you know the one.
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why? This is tough one… I’m torn between a monkey or a kitty cat. The monkey gets to swing around in the trees and be silly, but the cat… well, the cat has so many talents and personalities. I think I just made my choice. The cat is surprising, sweet, lovable, funny, sly, soft and most of all, sarcastic. Haha.
What was the last gift you gave someone? Ironic question… the last gift I intended to give someone was a congratulations card, coffee & doughnuts. My plan was to drop it by their work while they were on 3rd shift. I was going to leave it on their car for when they came out in the morning. Well, that didn’t quite happen because I drove in circles trying to find their vehicle until I gave up (at 1am).
What were you like in high school? Quiet. A people pleaser. Smart. Pretty. Slender. Athletic. Lots of things I’m not now LOL.
What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it? King of Queens – I watch it every single night. I don’t watch much tv but King of Queens is my late night guilty pleasure while laying in bed.
Any advice for your previous boss? Be humble. Don’t forget that you were once where others were. And that life isn’t defined by financial success, but by making the world a better place, mostly through kindness.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
What do you want to be when you grow up? Me – a free, peaceful, content and happy version
What inspires you? The world… too simple? Just walk outside.
Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday? Sunday, Monday, Tuesday… that was easy
You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant? Find it a big yard, feed it, pet it, play with it. I imagine the elephant and I will become great friends.
Who would win a fight between Spiderman and Batman? I don’t care
A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here? Hey! It’s awfully bright outside! I had to buy this sombrero just to get some shade!
